The original color version of this picture is much less interesting. I nearly discarded it as I reviewed the images from the day, but because the sky was so clear and void of any features I decided to try converting it to black and white. The result is one of my favorite pictures. Here’s what it looked like at first glance:
This is the remains of Glendale Mill in Glendale, SC. The mill, which had been closed for 43 years, was destroyed by a fire in 2004. There is an abundance of history associated with the area, including a Revolutionary War skirmish.
